The Comprehensive Guide to Microneedling

Have you noticed certain imperfections in your complexion? Do you struggle with acne scarring, fine lines, wrinkles, and more? While there are topical products on the market that claim to resolve these cosmetic concerns, many of them fail to produce real results. This is where skin rejuvenation procedures can make a significant difference.

Skin rejuvenation treatments like microneedling are designed specifically to address these aesthetic issues. Microneedling works under the surface of your skin to create new skin cells and generate collagen production. This helps transform your complexion and combat some of the most common cosmetic concerns.

Exclusively Radiant MedSpa in Pearland offers Eclipse MicroPen Evo treatment as a premier microneedling option. Read on to learn more about microneedling and its various benefits.

What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation procedure that aims to create a smooth, vibrant complexion. Many of our patients seek microneedling treatment to reduce their acne scarring and other signs of damage to the skin.

This popular procedure uses ultrafine needles to make small pricks in the skin. The tiny punctures penetrate beneath the surface of the skin to stimulate a deeper healing response.

The skin’s healing response generates new skin cells and collagen production. Once these new cells have fully developed and collagen is increased, you’re left with a smoother complexion that is free of common imperfections.

The Benefits of Microneedling

Skin rejuvenation treatments like microneedling present a variety of aesthetic benefits. When you choose microneedling to address your skincare concerns, you can expect the following:

  • Diminished acne scarring
  • Reduction in wrinkles and fine lines
  • Firming of sagging skin
  • Fading dark age spots
  • Shrinking of enlarged pores
  • Improved skin elasticity
  • Reduction of stretch marks

The microneedling procedure also offers benefits in the way it is administered. Microneedling is a non-surgical outpatient procedure. Patients are able to return home and resume normal activity after their treatment. There is no recovery or downtime necessary.

Eclipse MicroPen Evo

Eclipse MicroPen Evo is an FDA-cleared Class II microneedling system. This innovative handheld device gives cosmetic providers the most exact precision and ease of use.

When using the Eclipse MicroPen Evo to administer microneedling treatment, our cosmetic professionals can treat even the smallest areas of the skin with concise and deliberate movements.

The Eclipse MicroPen Evo delivers thousands of controlled micro-injuries to the skin, stimulating a healing response under the skin’s surface. This healing response can generate new skin cells and increase collagen production in the skin.

The combination of new skin cells and a boost in collagen brings you benefits that include everything from tackling signs of aging to reducing acne scarring.

How Is Microneedling Performed?

Before having a microneedling session, patients should have a clear understanding of what the procedure involves. Find out more about the Eclipse MicroPen Evo process below.

Before

Before your first microneedling session, you will need to have a consultation at Exclusively Radiant MedSpa. We can assess your skin and take a close look at any scarring, wrinkles, uneven tone, or texture irregularities.

The purpose of this consultation is to determine whether microneedling is the best treatment for you. Some patients may benefit from other skin rejuvenation procedures. If we find that Eclipse MicroPen is not the right fit for your skin’s needs, we will advise you on other procedures.

If you are deemed a good candidate for microneedling, you will be able to schedule your first session. On the day of your session, wash your face with a mild cleanser. Do not apply anything to your skin. This includes makeup, skincare creams, sunscreen, or topical treatments. Your skin should be completely bare for the procedure.

During

During your microneedling session, you will be able to lie back comfortably while we administer the treatment. Your procedure will begin with the application of a topical numbing cream. Once this has set in, our cosmetic provider will begin administering your treatment.

Using the handheld Eclipse MicroPen, ultrafine needles will continuously prick the skin in your designated treatment areas. We will determine these areas during your initial consultation.

The tiny punctures made by the Eclipse device will begin to stimulate a healing response that creates new skin cells and increases collagen production.

After

The entire microneedling procedure can take anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the areas being treated. Once your treatment is complete, you will be able to return home and resume normal activity. The only precaution is to avoid direct and prolonged sun exposure, as this may irritate sensitive skin.

To see optimal results from your microneedling treatment, you will need to return for additional sessions. We recommend two to four sessions, spaced several weeks apart. This will produce the ideal healing response in the skin and prolonged collagen production.

Most patients see the final result of their microneedling treatment about three months after the first round of sessions. Acne scarring should be diminished, along with sun damage and dark age spots.

You can expect smoother skin with a reduction in wrinkles, fine lines, and forehead creases. The newly generated skin cells and continued boost in collagen production will lead to an overall more youthful appearance.
