Could NovaThreads Help Your Aging Skin?

When you look in the mirror, do you notice sagging skin that comes with the natural aging process? Many of our patients at Exclusively Radiant MedSpa want to promote more youthful skin with a greater lift.

If you desire a non-invasive treatment option, a traditional facelift may not be the right fit for you. Instead, we recommend PDO threads for the results you wish to see.

What are PDO threads, and how can they lift or rejuvenate your skin? Learn more about this service from Exclusively Radiant MedSpa.

What Are NovaThreads?

If you are considering a thread lift, you may have already come across the NovaThreads name brand. This company, founded in 2015, has years of experience creating the top thread lift products.

The founders of NovaThreads have a combined 30 years of experience in polydioxanone (PDO) technology and other aesthetic treatments. Made in the United States, NovaThreads thread lift treatments hold tremendous promise for those seeking a lift for the sagging skin that often accompanies aging.

Polydioxanone was originally used in internal surgeries such as cardiothoracic surgery. The body absorbs this material via hydrolysis within the first four to six months after placing it. Even better, it does not create any scar tissue.

When they are placed under the skin, PDO threads will boost the body’s healing process. Part of this process is the stimulation of collagen production, which can restore volume to the face and work to restore the natural shape of the skin.

Results from NovaThreads will typically last 12 to 15 months after they are placed, making them a long-lasting solution to sagging skin.

PDO threads are unique in that they trigger the body’s healing response and stimulate it to start producing more collagen. Our PDO thread lift treatment options at Exclusively Radiant MedSpa include smooth threads and barbed threads.

Barbed Threads

Used in a technique known as the Nu-Lift method, barbed threads work on building collagen to support a more dramatic lift. Barbed threads will have tiny barbs along the thread that can lift sagging skin when they are placed.

Treatment with barbed threads tends to have a more dramatic and immediate result than treatment with smooth threads.

Smooth Threads

Smooth threads are smaller than barbed threads and have no barbs. They are used in a pattern known as the Nu-Mesh technique.

These smooth threads will be placed both vertically and horizontally to form a type of mesh that stimulates collagen production under the surface of the skin. The results of this type of thread lift are a bit more gradual than what you will see with barbed threads.

How Do PDO Threads Work?

If you are considering a thread lift, then you might be curious about what you can expect from your session.

How does the process work, and what should you expect from your first treatment?

First, our providers will numb the area to be treated with either a topical or a local anesthetic before marking the strategic placement of your PDO threads.

Each of the PDO threads made by NovaThreads comes in a pre-loaded needle. We will place the threads under your skin, then remove the needle and leave the suture in place. We will make no cuts or incisions to your skin.

Our providers will customize the number of sutures and the lengths of the NovaThreads based on the needs of your skin.

Depending on the desired effects, we may place several of these sutures in one treatment session. The threads can be used to pull the skin tighter or simply placed to stimulate collagen growth.

Over the next four to six months, you will start to see the results of your thread lift as your body increases the amount of collagen it produces. The threads will dissolve on their own but will have a lasting impact on your appearance for a year or more.

Is a Thread Lift Right for You?

How do you know when a thread lift is the right choice for you? The best way to determine whether this procedure is the right choice is to book a consultation with Exclusively Radiant MedSpa.

We can help you evaluate all of your treatment options. We will also discuss how strategic placement of the threads can boost collagen production in key areas and tell you what results to expect after your treatment.

A good candidate for a thread lift with PDO threads is looking for a solution that can lift and contour loose skin on the face.

You might choose a thread lift if you experience loose skin in key areas such as:

  • Around the eyes or eyebrows
  • Cheeks
  • Jowls
  • Neck

Most patients who opt for this type of procedure need mild to moderate rejuvenation. However, they do not want surgical intervention.

If you don’t think a full facelift will suit your lifestyle and aesthetic goals, then PDO threads may be the right fit for you. When you’re ready to learn more, then you need to contact our team of experienced professionals to discuss the options for a thread lift!
